African Game Hunts prides itself in having personally covered the African continent from South Africa to Namibia to Kenya to the Indian Ocean since 2000. Multiple yearly visits have allowed the company to provide first – hand knowledge of the better plains game and bird hunting, as well as fresh and salt water fishing locales.

There is no shortage of plains game and fishing options throughout Africa. Our hunting philosophy has steered us towards hunting only plains game animals. There are a number of views on the subject of hunting lion, leopard and elephant in Africa. While we are well versed in those differing views we are comfortable in choosing to concentrate on those hunters looking to take on the adventure of plains game and birds.

Whether it be stalking Oryx in Namibia on foot, sitting in a field of sunflowers as hundreds of rock pigeon swarm overhead, awaiting the right sized spiral horned kudu approach your camouflaged position or calling Egyptian Geese to your duck blind, the opportunities for foreigners to hunt the multiple dozens species of plains game and birds of Africa are substantive.

Henk Visagie – African Game Hunts:

Growing up in Kroonstad, South Africa, Henk developed a lifelong passion for the outdoors, wildlife, and the spirit of adventure. Hunting was never just about the harvest—it was a way to share time with family and friends, a tradition that shaped his love for the bushveld and ignited his desire to explore further horizons.

During his university years, Henk was fortunate to be part of the early development of a private game lodge in the legendary Sabi Sands Reserve. This experience deepened his appreciation for Africa’s natural beauty and hospitality, and sparked a vision: to one day share the magic of South Africa with people from around the world.

After completing his studies, Henk’s path led him to the United States—a country whose people he believed would truly embrace the epic adventures Africa has to offer. In the early 2000s, he met an American gentleman who shared his passion for Africa , and what began as a friendship quickly grew into a partnership built on shared values, countless hunts together, and a mutual passion for South Africa.

Together, they have managed and grown African Game Hunts, driven by a commitment to exceed expectations for every guest. Their philosophy is simple yet powerful: We care. They care not only about their clients but also about every farmer, professional hunter, tracker, and farm worker they work alongside. For Henk, hunting is about more than trophies—it’s about creating a sustainable business that uplifts communities, preserves traditions, and ensures that every safari leaves a positive footprint.
